Daniel Thomas Moran, - USA - TO KAREN BEFORE A STORM

I am wishing for
a thunderstorm tonight,
one which will come
from the slow distance,
silhouette our trees in
winks of dim light,
shudder them with our echoes.
We will be waiting,
you and I.
Composed as two notes
hung in the electric air,
watching the night
without blinking.
And it should
build like Brahms,
causing us to slowly
close the hollows
between our hands.
It should burst
all the quiet,
teach us how
life can
begin and end,
in the space
between heartbeats ...

Poet Laureate von Suffolk County im Staat New York (2005).

FÜR KAREN VOR DEM GEWITTER

Ich wünsche mir
ein Gewitter für heute Nacht,
das aus der trägen Ferne heraufzieht,
unsere Bäume ausschneidet
mit fahlem Licht,
sie mit unserem Echo erschüttert.
Wir werden warten,
du und ich.
Gesetzt wie zwei Noten
im Takt der elektrischen Luft,
beobachten wir die Nacht
ohne mit den Augen zu zwinkern.
Und anschwellen
sollte es wie ein Brahms,
damit langsam
unsere Hände verschmelzen.
Es sollte
die Stille aufbrechen,
uns lehren, wie
das Leben
im Raum zwischen
schlagenden Herzen
beginnen und enden kann ...

PARA KAREN, ANTES DE LA TORMENTA

Anhelo
una tormenta para esta noche,
una que se acerque desde lentas lejanías,
recortando nuestros árboles
con turbios destellos de luz,
estremeciéndolos con nuestros ecos.
Esperando estaremos,
tú y yo.
Como dos notas
acompasadas por el aire electrizado,
observamos la noche
sin parpadear.
Y debiera
ir en crescendo como Brahms,
para que nuestras manos lentamente
llenen el vació entre sus palmas.
Debiera romper
toda la calma,
enseñarnos cómo
la vida tiene
comienzo y final
en el espacio
entre los latidos de corazón...
